During our testing, we found that the iRobot S9+ cleans thoroughly and efficiently on a range of flooring surfaces, ranging from carpets with medium to hard piles and rugs. It also performed well with laminate flooring, and vinyl flooring. It did a great job of navigating around furniture and objects, but it had some trouble with stairs where it could accidentally crash into bookcases.
We loved the feature that the S9 automatically returns to its base to empty its dust bin when it's full, which greatly reduces the need for hands-on maintenance. The dust bin will last for about 30 loads or a month and half. It's recommended to replace the filter on a regular basis (as recommended by iRobot). We've found that the iRobot S9+ doesn't get extremely loud when it's in use which makes it a good option for those living with pets or children.

Its dual motors offer impressive cleaning power. The dustbin is able to be removed and emptied easily which is beneficial since you'll have to do it frequently.
It's also easy to set up, though I recommend fully charging the X8 Hybrid prior to running it for the first time. You'll have to install the Eufy Home app and follow the directions for connecting to your Wi-Fi network. The app will assist you draw a map of your home. You can label the rooms, split rooms into sub-rooms in order to make it easier to open-plan living, and help direct the X8 Hybrid towards specific areas in need of cleaning at a particular time. Eufy's app is more intuitive and refined than other robots that have similar mapping and scanning functions.
A great feature on the X8 Hybrid is that you can control the vacuum or mop with your voice, thanks to the integration with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. This is a wonderful feature that makes the robot more hands-free. It was very effective in our test home.
The X8 Hybrid, like many robotic vacuums, has a few issues with flooring that is not clean. It is prone to miss pet hair and other small objects, and is more likely to get into things, like its own charger that sits on its charging base. It's also not as quiet as some other models we've tested, and the whirring noise can be distracting.
Roborock V3S pro
This robot doesn't have the same number of features as some of the more expensive ones we've tested, but it does cover the basics. It has a large enough dust bin that can hold a lot of dirt before it's time to empty it, and its mop and vacuum system is perfect for hard floors and low-pile carpets. It's also super quiet, and we were able to watch television while it was cleaning without feeling like it was blazing us with the sound.
Our testers were impressed by how simple it was to set up and use, and were impressed by its capacity to clean all the messes off their floors. It was successful in picking up pet hair, messes and carpeting however it had a harder time eliminating stubborn stains. They found the app easy to use and intuitive, and they were able to program the vacuum to clean on a regular basis to cut down on the amount they needed to do manually. The V3S Pro did not make it onto our top choice lists from trusted sources who test hands-on, but it was praised by Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient. They were impressed with the ease of install and use, however they noted that its battery life is limited and it wasn't able to avoid some of the most stubborn mess we've put it through.
