There's no need to spend time cleaning the same spots over and over again if the battery runs out. You can also set it up to start and stop cleaning sessions with an easy voice command or using the iRobot app, and this smart vacuum will even clean in the dark!
Another great feature is Carpet Boost, which gives the S9 extra suction power when it encounters carpeting so that it can take in even more dirt and debris. The S9 has an elongated front design, which allows it to be closer to corners and walls than previous round designs. But, be aware that this model won't work well with high-pile or shag carpeting.
In our tests, we found the iRobot S9+ cleaned thoroughly and efficiently a variety of floor surfaces, including hard and medium-pile carpets. It also performed well on vinyl, and laminate flooring. It also did a good job of navigating between furniture and objects, although it did struggle with stairs, and could accidentally hit things like bookcases.
We liked the feature that the S9 automatically returns to its base to empty its dust bin when it's full, which significantly minimizes the need to be hands-on with maintenance. The dust bag is expected to last for around 30 loads or a month and half. It's recommended to replace the filter on a regular basis (as recommended by iRobot). In our experience, the iRobot S9+ doesn't get extremely loud when it's in use and is a great option for those living with pets or children.
Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid
Robot vacuum cleaners are made to do the chores for you, and they can clean carpet and hardwood floors. Certain robot vacuum cleaners can be controlled via an app on your smartphone, while others feature mopping technology for bathroom and kitchen flooring. They're an excellent choice for busy families, and they are becoming more affordable. If you're looking to get the latest technology in your robotic vacuum cleaner, then you'll have to pay a little more.
The Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid is a complete vacuum and mopping machine, making it a good choice for those in a flat with multiple floors. Its dual motors give it an impressive cleaning capacity and the 0.6l dustbin can hold plenty of pet hair. The dustbin is easily removed and empty which is great as you'll be required to do this regularly.
It's also simple to set up, but I would recommend fully charging the X8 Hybrid prior to running it for the first time. Install the Eufy Home application and follow the directions to connect it to your WiFi network. The app will then help you draw a map of your house. You can label rooms and divide rooms into sub-rooms (good for open-plan living) and direct the X8 Hybrid to specific areas that require cleaning at a specific time. There are many other robots that have similar scanning and mapping functions, but Eufy's application feels more refined and intuitive than other models.
The X8 Hybrid has a great feature: you can turn on the mop or vacuum via voice thanks to its integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. This is a nice touch that makes the robot more hands-free. It also works well in our test house.
The X8 Hybrid, like many robotic vacuums, has a few issues with bare flooring. It can miss pet hair and small objects, and it is prone to get into objects - like its own charger on the charging base. It's not as quiet as other models we've tried, and the whirring sounds can be distracting.
Roborock V3S Pro
The robot doesn't come with the same features as some of the more expensive ones we tested, however it does have the basics covered. It has a huge dust bin that can hold a lot of dirt before needing to be emptied. The mop and vacuum system is great for both hard floors and carpets with a low pile. It's also quiet. We could watch the TV while it was cleaning without feeling as though we were being overwhelmed by the sound.
Our testers were impressed by how simple it was to install and use, and they were impressed by its capacity to get all the mess off their flooring. It even did a pretty excellent job of removing pet hair and messes on carpeting, although it wasn't as successful in removing stubborn staining. The app was simple to use and intuitive. They could set up the vacuum to clean regularly to reduce the amount of manual work. The only downside is that it doesn't have any vacuum mop cleaner robot mapping technology or object avoidance, which means you aren't able to send it to specific rooms or follow virtual boundaries (though magnetic boundary strips are compatible).
The V3S Pro is another model that is part of iRobot's affordable line. It comes with some impressive features at a reasonable price. It was the best robot vacuum we tested to avoid obstacles and map them. It's also a great budget option for those who want a smarter, self-emptying robotic vacuum that is able to handle hair and pet messes on floors made of hardwood or carpets with a low pile. It's also very quiet and comes with a massive dust bin that holds plenty of debris prior to when it's time to empty it, so you don't have to worry about constantly emptying it.
The V3S Pro did not make it into our top choice lists from reliable sources that test hands-on, but it was praised by Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient. They were impressed with how easy it was to set up and use, however they also noted that the battery life was limited and it wasn't able to avoid some of the most difficult mess we've put it through.

The Q Revo is a solid entry-level robot vacuum and mop that doesn't skimp on features or price. It comes with many of the features you find on top models, such as intelligent navigation and mapping, without spending a fortune. You can also use voice commands via Alexa, Google Assistant, or Apple Siri shortcuts to create custom automations and begin your cleaning routine remotely while you're away.
Roborock has taken its time developing this innovative cleaner. The product is extremely well-built and feels like premium materials were used to create it. Its base is stable and sturdy with the charging port built into the battery. There's a docking station for the clean-water tank as well as the dirty-water bins above. Below, you'll find an area that houses the sealed vacuum bag.
After pairing your device with the application, you will see a 3D and 2D map of your home that will show you the location of your robot at any given moment and what area it is cleaning.
